Vector Index Replication¶

Vector Index Replication은 AkasicDB Enterprise Edition에서만 제공하며 Community Edition에서는 지원하지 않습니다. AkasicDB는 vector index 변경을 custom write-ahead log (WAL) record로 기록합니다. Physical replication 구성과 base backup 생성에는 PostgreSQL 절차를 사용합니다.

Custom WAL 확인¶

vectoron.custom_wal_enabled는 custom WAL 기록을 설정합니다. 기본값은 on이며 server를 시작할 때 적용됩니다.

SHOW vectoron.custom_wal_enabled;

설정을 변경한 뒤에는 PostgreSQL server를 재시작합니다.

ALTER SYSTEM SET vectoron.custom_wal_enabled = 'on';

설치 package나 postgresql.conf에서 값을 변경할 수 있으므로 primary와 standby에서 각각 확인합니다.

WAL을 끈 경우¶

vectoron.custom_wal_enabled = off에서도 primary write는 계속됩니다. 이 상태에서 발생한 vector index 변경은 crash recovery와 standby replay에서 복구되지 않을 수 있습니다.

Custom WAL을 다시 켜도 비활성 기간의 변경은 복구되지 않습니다. Physical standby를 다시 운영하려면 primary에서 새 base backup을 만들고 standby를 재구성합니다.

지원 범위¶

Flat, IVF, HNSW, Vamana와 Sparse Inverted Index는 custom WAL replay를 지원합니다. Enterprise Edition의 DiskANN은 physical replication의 refresh, replay와 promotion을 지원하지 않습니다.

Physical standby가 필요한 배포에서는 DiskANN index를 사용하지 않습니다.

운영 확인¶

Primary와 standby에서 vectoron.custom_wal_enabled가 on인지 확인합니다.
Standby에서 vector index query를 실행하기 전에 replay와 index open이 완료됐는지 확인합니다.
Promotion 뒤 vector index write와 query를 확인합니다.
Custom WAL이 비활성화된 이력이 있으면 기존 standby를 재사용하지 않습니다.
