v2.0.0

Release Date: 2026-08-31

Overview

AkasicDB 2.0 is the second official release of AkasicDB. This release introduces Korean Full-Text Search (BM25), vector quantization, disk-based vector indexing, and read-only replicas, while delivering broad improvements to the performance and stability of graph queries, graph DML, and vector search.

New Features

BM25-Based Korean Full-Text Search (Community / Enterprise Edition)

  • Supports BM25-based full-text search.
  • Applies Korean morphological analysis-based tokenization to accurately handle the linguistic characteristics of Korean, including particles and verb endings.
  • Can be combined with vector search to build hybrid search that incorporates both keyword-based and semantic search.

Vector Quantization (Enterprise Edition)

  • Vector quantization improves throughput (Queries Per Second, QPS) at the cost of some recall.
  • Provides a cost-efficient search environment for large-scale vector datasets.

Disk-Based Vector Indexing — DiskANN (Enterprise Edition)

  • Supports disk-based indexing for vector datasets that exceed available memory capacity.
  • Significantly increases the scale of vector data that can be handled on a single node.

Read-Only Replicas (Enterprise Edition)

  • Supports read-only replica configurations, allowing read traffic to be distributed across replicas to improve read performance.
  • Replicas can also be used to provide high availability (HA).1

Feature, Performance, and Stability Improvements

  • Improved planning performance for graph queries.
  • Improved stability of graph DML operations (Create / Update / Delete).
  • Improved overall vector search performance.
